(The Legion of Mary is currently not meeting but are continuing to pray with each other and for each other)

An apostolic organisation of lay people working to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members and devotion to Our Lady.   The Legion of Mary members give service to the Church on a voluntary basis in almost every country in the world. Through prayer and works the Legionaries aim to develop their spirituality and become better Catholics. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a praesidium, which holds a weekly meeting, where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. In this parish Legionaries meet on Tuesdays at 6.00pm in the Newman room and once a month hold a Patrician meeting. The Legion of Mary always welcome new members. It is a great way of meeting fellow parishioners and through its work, meeting some great people in the wider parish.

The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of everyone. The members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, the sick, both in their homes and in hospitals and through collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish. However, due to the group’s work with vulnerable people, potential members are required to have an interview and a DBS check. Members must also abide by some basic rules such as confidentiality. If you would like to know more, please contact Father Graham.
